old phone
This fragment from a science show in The Netherlands called World of Miracles (1985), shows how people used to text back then. It's great to see how people where struggling with clumsy inventions that were of no use at all, but were actually pioneers in technology we now use every day. Don't forget it's only 22 years ago. Maybe in 2029 we'll see video clips of silly people experimenting with big bulky music players with primitive touchscreens called (...)  read more
Nokia with head phone
Nokia has been making great phones for years but in my eyes a big flaw has always been the Nokia pop port. It's the connector that connects your Nokia to your headset, your computer or other add-ons. Engadget says the phone remains 100% functional but there's no word on how future Apple (...)  read more

The 12 keys that used to be enough to enter a phone number just won't do anymore. Some phones solved this with touchscreen handwriting recognition, others with a tiny button keyboard below the screen. For those who want to be mobile, but want to be able to type on a regular sized (...)  read more
LG KU990 Prada-like phone
The LG KU990 (LG Viewty) is set to hit the UK sometime this fall and could make its way to the US next year. Just like the famous iPhone competing LG Prada it's an all touchscreen phone but also has an impressive 5 mega pixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach optics for photos and videos. The operating software seems to be the same as on the LG Prada. So this isn't the Windows Mobile phone LG has been talking about. The software does allow you to watch YouTube videos and also upload your own (...)  read more
