Today Sony announced playTV, a combination of a TV tuner and a personal video recorder (PVR) for the PlayStation 3. Apart from the fact that it's a great marketing strategy from Sony, it really bundles the separate strengths of the Sony products for multimedia entertainment. The playTV box features two TV tuners (HD ready) and connects to the PS3 which will act as a standard PVR with an electronic program guide and time shifting. The LG KU990 (LG Viewty) is set to hit the UK sometime this fall and could make its way to the US next year. Just like the famous iPhone competing LG Prada it's an all touchscreen phone but also has an impressive 5 mega pixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach optics for photos and videos.
