Since a few years the size of a cell phone is determined by a balance between a compact mobile design and and the comfort of a large high resolution screen. You can't have both. Till now. We've seen concepts of roll-out screens before but Texas Instruments now shows us a cell phone with in-handset projector. Bookshelf with extractable projection screen
Recently we reported on transforming your wall into a projector screen with a special paint. The reason was to find a way to have a projector screen without having a big ugly screen prominent in your living room. An Italian designer found an other smart and good looking way to hide a projector screen: in a bookshelf. special paint to work with beamers
Using a projector is a great way to get that real home theater feeling. And with the improvement in quality of these beamers you can get a high definition image in a screen size that you'll never reach with an LCD of plasma television. The only thing is you do need an empty wall that's large enough.
