Technicians are building a 750 mph Train in their Free Time

Back in 2013, Elon Musk, known as the man behind PayPal, Tesla and Space X, presented the concept of the Hyperloop but also stated not having enough time to work on the project.

A new company called Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has now picked up the ambitious project and gathered hundreds of technicians and scientists from around the globe who might have day jobs at NASA or Boeing but work on the project in their free time.

The idea is that the train travels on air cushions generated by electric engines and travel through tubes, making it a very safe and fast way of traveling. The train would be able to reach speeds of 750 mph (1200 km/h) effectively making it possible to travel the 370 miles between Los Angeles and San Francisco in just 30 minutes.

The train could be a reality in as soon as 10 years costing between 7 en 16 billion dollars.
